The older market requires a strategy shift

Tuesday, September 20, 2016

The UK is ageing and companies need to consider how to change their businesses to meet the needs of older people and those of the families who are helping and caring for them.

There are many issues involved here:

  • people living for longer, but in ill-health. They need more help and understanding to pursue their daily routine and contact with others
  • families living further apart, so there is less of a local support network
  • family carers juggling children, jobs and elder care

Businesses need to recognise the problems and stresses placed on both older people and their family carers. Those businesses who rise to meet this challenge will reap rewards in terms of customer loyalty and sales.

Deborah Stone, founder of Mature Thinking and myageingparent talks below to BBC Breakfast about the challenges facing the so-called 'sandwich generation'.

Do you have the right products in place to deliver for older people and their family carers? Is your service delivery good enough to help older people to interface with your company without confusion or stress? If not, Mature Thinking can help you to develop the right pathways.
